How To Find One Brilliant Thought A Day To Share With Your Followers

How To Find That Brilliant Blog Idea
How do you figure out what to say in a daily blog post? It’s really, really, hard. None of us has anything that profound to say every single day, or in fact every single week, month or for some of us every single year. Then why do it? Because the relentless drum of marketing pressure requires us to constantly reach out to new customers and all of the “they’s,” say creating value through your brand in social media is one of the best ways to create inroads to new customers. Marketing guru Seth Godin says, “Getting customers to engage, even when they aren’t necessarily opening their wallets, is what differentiates a good brand from a great brand.” which in turn puts your brand at the top of a potential customer or client’s mind when they make a buying decision or need to turn to an expert to solve a problem. Godin defines brand as “the set of expectations, memories, stories and relationships that, taken together, account for a consumer’s decision to choose one product or service over another.” So when trying to figure out what to say to feed your hungry blog, ask yourself, what expectations, memories, and stories do you want to give your current and potential customers about you? For me, the answer is simple. I want my blog to reflect two things. First, the wide variety of interests my clients have as both people and professionals. I truly believe that all of us are individuals first and business people second. As individuals we have a wide variety of interests, passions, and concerns. I want my blog to speak to my clients as people that bring their own passions to their work. Which brings me to the second criteria I am going to use for my posts, what can I share from my eclectic and omnivorous fascinations that will give my readers interesting things to read and talk about. The posts will range from storytelling hints and tips to technology marvels, and parenting observations, with stops along the way for anything else that I find fascinating and worth sharing. Why… because all of that comprises what my own brand will deliver when you engage with me professionally. If you had vowed to blog Monday through Friday, what would you write to build your brand? Thoughts, comments….
